Earlier this week host of the Nii Lamptey Show podcast Joey Crone met with surreptitious Sisu leader Joy Seppala at Sky Blue Lodge. He spent a good hour discussing the situation with her, as well as having an extended chat with Tim Fisher, and a lift back to the train station with Steve Waggott. Here's a message from Joey regarding how things went:
Nothing will ever quell the happiness I feel when Coventry score a goal. Today we scored four of the bleeders and I'm so, so delighted. This response is engrained within me.
But at this point, my thoughts immediately move to the next game, and how a winning Coventry City potentially affects the Keep CCFC in Coventry movement - and obviously the continued boycott of all games in Northampton.
Coventry City will next season be playing their home games in Northampton. To the sane observer it's a decision smothered in contempt for supporters, needless drama and irrational behaviour. So how exactly did we get here? Let's recap, if only to emphasise the stupidity.
Once again I have my football fan head on here. No matter how hard I try to rationalise, I simply can’t bring myself to accept our season being thrown away at this point. During my time as a Coventry City fan we’ve lived in both the past and the future – harking back to the FA Cup every two seconds or deferring all achievement to “the future” with our relentless “building” year mentality and acceptance of mediocrity. Wouldn’t it be nice, just for once, to focus on the here and now? What we can actually do this season. I know eventually this won’t be a choice we can make now the courts are involved, but here’s my two penneth.
